Warwick 2026: Rodeo Champions, a Bronc Match Victory and a Gold Cup Awaiting Full Results

November 5, 2026 | Rodeo · Western Riding · Australia

From October 19 to 25, 2026, Warwick, Queensland, hosted its annual rodeo and campdrafting gathering amid persistent rain. The Cinch International Australian Bronc Match produced a clear winner in Jake Finlay. Rodeo results have been posted by the APRA, but a comprehensive, verifiable official score sheet covering the main campdrafting events has not yet been established.
Where rodeo and campdrafting meet
In Queensland's Southern Downs, the Warwick Rodeo & Gold Cup Campdraft brings together two related equestrian traditions. Rodeo features roughstock, speed and cattle-handling events. Campdrafting grew directly out of the work of Australian stockmen: horse and rider must control a selected beast in a confined area before guiding it through a set arena course. The event links competitive sport, livestock production and rural community life.
The 2026 edition, held October 19–25, faced difficult weather. Heavy rain made preparing and maintaining the arena especially demanding. Keeping the competitions running required sustained work by technical crews and volunteers. [1][2]
Warwick Rodeo: the APRA results
The main rodeo competitions took place October 22–25 under the Australian Professional Rodeo Association (APRA). A document titled Warwick 2026 Final Results Listing was posted on its website. It is the appropriate reference for separating individual rounds from overall, or aggregate, results. [3]
The aggregate winners identified in the listing are Bailey O'Dell (saddle bronc), Ross Tilley (bareback bronc), Toby Daley (bull riding), Mitch Eastwell (rope and tie), Tyler Kenny (steer wrestling), Casey Tribe and Kai Clark (team roping), Ellysa Kenny (barrel racing) and Georgie Kapeller (breakaway roping). Readers seeking detailed scores and placings should consult the original APRA sheet. We could not reopen that PDF during our latest technical check, so we are deliberately not reproducing a numerical table that has not been checked line by line again. [3]
Jake Finlay wins the Cinch International Australian Bronc Match
On Saturday, October 24, the Cinch International Australian Bronc Match—an invitational separate from APRA championship standings—brought together saddle bronc specialists from Australia, the United States and Canada.
In the eight-rider championship round, Goondiwindi-born, Texas-based Jake Finlay won with 90.5 points aboard Big Tie, a horse owned by Garry McPhee. Fellow Australian Tom Webster finished second on 88.5 points riding Cherokee Mountain. Americans Delbert “Shorty” Garrett on Lady X and Gus Gaillard on Whiskey Boy shared third place; the official release did not give individual scores for those two rides. [1]
Finlay received A$20,000, a saddle made by Troy Welsh and a championship buckle; Webster earned A$10,000. The international field reflects the Bronc Match's wider purpose: giving Australian riders the chance to face international opposition at home while strengthening links with North American rodeo circuits. [1]
Gold Cup Campdraft: a results article is not a complete score sheet
The Gold Cup remains one of Australia's most prestigious campdrafting contests. Warwick's wider program also includes the Canning Downs Campdraft and other specialist events. An accurate review should identify riders, horses, points and major placings across the program.
Select Sires published an article titled “2026 Warwick Gold Cup Results” on October 25, 2026. Its accessible text describes the downpour, praises the arena surface and congratulates the winners and placegetters, but does not provide the complete result tables in the text available to us. The Warwick Show & Rodeo Society's campdraft page, as checked, likewise does not establish every final placing and score. [2][4]
Publishing a supposedly complete championship list at this stage would therefore be premature. One distinction is especially important: Rohan Marks and TURNERMARKS LINESMAN's 2025 Gold Cup win cannot on its own establish the 2026 winner. Until an accessible 2026 result sheet confirms the champion's identity and score, The Gazette will not present a historical result as a new victory. [4]
The people behind the competition
In such wet conditions, keeping an event running highlights the importance of arena crews, volunteers, livestock handlers and everyone supporting horses and competitors. Safe footing is fundamental to both rodeo and campdrafting, particularly in persistent rain. The event's teams had to contend with challenges extending beyond the performances themselves. [1][2]
An open record, not an invented one
Warwick 2026 will be remembered for Jake Finlay's international victory, the results recorded by the APRA and the determination shown by those who kept the event going in the rain. The detailed Gold Cup Campdraft record still awaits complete, verifiable official documentation. We will update the report once winners, horses, scores and dates for the major events can be confirmed and cross-checked.
